AdrenalineJunky Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 Don't see idle speed screws on my carbs. Looking in the manual it looks like they are on the TORS. Mine are removed. Is that where they were and if so is there just no idle speed screws now? Quote
bebetekbanshee358 Posted February 4, 2010 Report Posted February 4, 2010 WHEN U DO THE CARB TOP REMOVAL THEY SELL A IDLE KIT U HAVE TO DRILL IN THE SIDES OF THE CARBS. AND THEY WILL SUPPLY A IDLE SET SCREW.. Quote

LOL Could this be why my bike won't idle? lol Yes, this is probably why it won't idle. Some people that don't want to pop for the idle kit either live with it not idling, or they adjust the freeplay out of the throttle cable so it idles. Adjusting the cable is a bad deal because it can cause your idle to surge when the bars are turned or possibly a run away situation. Buy the idle kit and drill and tap your carbs. You will also need to grind or file flat the boss where the screw goes in the carb. Quote

Said he took it in on a trade and didn't really know much about it and it had been sitting. Does this sound like what could be my problem with the non starting and idling? Y would a dumbass not install the idle kit? Well looks like i'll be takin carb off anyways to tap it and i'll clean it out good anyways while its out. Then I can see what size pilot and mains are in it also. Quote

The mods are VForce Reeds, T5's, Boost Bottle, K&N w/ lid (probably remove), stock cylinders as far as I know, reed spacers. I am around 600-700ft. Does that sound about right? Where can I find carb sync tool? Thx. Quote

I would have guess your main to be around 270-280 but I would do a plug chop to verify what you have. Quote

I thought the pilot went from 25 to 27.5 and the mains were in 10 increments so how do I have a 26 and a 265? Quote

The pilots do go in 25,27.5,30 and the mains go in 10s like said. Sometimes they are hard to read. But im thinking that the 5 looks like a 0 if just quickly looked at. Quote

No idle screw and stock pilots lol. Looks like I got to get some jets. Wow and it actually ran good so I guess it will be running even better when I get finished. Quote

Should I replace them also? Probably whoever messed with it before just changed the mains and that it. Just order a KIT and start from scratch? Quote
Bansh-eman Posted March 14, 2010 Report Posted March 14, 2010 The stock neddle is fine. Run it on the middle clip, run a 27.5 pilot. Most bikes with pipes and airbox lid removed need closer to a 300 main. Quote

I am going to buy jets in the a.m. Should I start at 300 and go from there or start at like 310? Which jets should I buy? 280-310? Quote
bansheesandrider Posted March 16, 2010 Report Posted March 16, 2010 If you are playing with2 strokes you should have a jet kit. My kit has 2 of every size from 250 t0 340 or 350. Quote
