Klaus Posted January 27, 2010 Report Posted January 27, 2010 Hey guys. A friend of mine rebuilt his shee, and fitted a cool head with 20cc domes. It seems to me as if the bike is running rich. It has a stutter just before the powerband and smokes a lot. My question is, will a bike run richer if you bump up the compression? I just cant seem to get my mind around that question. And if so, why? Thanks. Quote
GrMeyer Posted January 29, 2010 Report Posted January 29, 2010 Well just like any part you add to a banshee. You will need to check to see if the jetting is on or not. Also, the temp could have changed from the last time it was jetted for. And the Gas/oil mix could have changed. Quote
RadarRacing Posted January 29, 2010 Report Posted January 29, 2010 They will run richer with lower comp like when a rebuild is needed but shouldn't unless you did something else. Check things like gas, head sealing, intake gasket not leaking, reeds etc. Who made the domes? Quote
ClimbAnyHill Posted January 29, 2010 Report Posted January 29, 2010 Check coolant, make sure the head is sealed right. Quote
Klaus Posted January 29, 2010 Author Report Posted January 29, 2010 Hmm, I'l mention these things to him. Head and domes are Pro design, brand new. Thanks guys. Quote
AKheathen Posted January 29, 2010 Report Posted January 29, 2010 it is verry probable that an o-ring slipped out upon installation.....i would check for signs of coolant leak in the cylinders Quote
