harbinger of death Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 Here is the link. K&N pods are worn out. The Yamaha Y boot filtering system http://www.motocarrera.com/intake.htm looks like the same thing toomey sells, but they use a foam filter. I have one but never used it cause I ride trails and dont want to suck water in. Quote
banshee#44 Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 just get new pods and be done with it Quote
Screaming Yellow Zonker Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 I ran the toomey 2 into 1 setup for a little bit. As soon as I changed over to the pods I noticed a big difference. Better throttle response it pulled harder and I got more bugs in my teeth... Quote
Idontknowwhy Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 I got the toomey one, with an outerwear, it's higher than pods, but I still steer clear of high water. Quote
andrew3160 Posted January 2, 2010 Author Report Posted January 2, 2010 I will stick with the pods then. Can I still trail ride and ride in the rain if they have outerwares? I am not often riding through high water or in the rain, but sometimes have the urge to mess around in the snow. Quote

Think about it, if you're on the throttle, the engine is trying to suck air-dirt-water-whatever through the filters so if water can get to your filter it wants to go through. Thats why I run an airbox. Quote
bebetekbanshee358 Posted January 2, 2010 Report Posted January 2, 2010 guys guys guys it sounds like your drowning in a cup of water./.... why dont u just run pods in the factory airbox and dril some small holes on the top lid??? Quote
