06BCBANSHEE Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 (edited) hey guys, I just bought a black 06 banshee. Got a sick deal on it, $2800 and traded a 90 civic. It has fmf fatty, Q silencer(i think) K&N air filter with outer wears. 8 inch rear tire. a couple billet accessories, its super clean, and maybe has 10 hours on it. I was wondering what fuel/oil ratio I should be using? The manual says 24:1. What do you guys recommend? I used to have a 02 z400, and I thought that was fast. Their is nothing compared to the SHEE, I love it, cant wait to go riding, have only driven it for ten mins in a parking lot. It runs perfect. Also what can I get to get some more low to midrange power? thanks! http://www.facebook.com/album.php?profile=1&id=556825014#/photo.php?pid=10079238&id=556825014 Edited December 21, 2009 by 06BCBANSHEE Quote
06BCBANSHEE Posted December 21, 2009 Author Report Posted December 21, 2009 oh it also has a boost bottle Quote
locogato11283 Posted December 21, 2009 Report Posted December 21, 2009 first off, welcome to HQ bro! i would run klotz premix at 40:1. stay away from yamalube as that stuff is junk. i would ditch the boost bottle and get a stock crossover tube to put back in there. the boost bottle does nothing for performance and clutters up the engine area. you can get one for next to nothing from NYUK here on HQ. check your outerwares for dust and dirt. while they do keep stuff out of the filters, they can plug up so bad that your bike will starve for air. i actually recommend taking them off entirely unless youre only riding in the sand. as far as bottom end and midrange, you will probably need some porting done to really notice any major gains. check with the site sponsors when it comes to parts and stuff. they offer great deals, are some of the best in the industry and its also a good way to give back to the site. 06BCBANSHEE Posted December 21, 2009 Author Report Posted December 21, 2009 cool thanks man, ya i figured it would be around 40:1 . The outerwears are completley clean, but i will most likley take it off. Im kinda dissapointed that the boost bottle is a waste? Does the stock set up gane more HP, and throttle response than the boost bottle? Quote

06BCBANSHEE Posted December 22, 2009 Author Report Posted December 22, 2009 ok thanks. Does everyone else agree to do a 40:1 fuel/oil ration? The guy i bought it from said he was using Bel-Ray H1R Synthetic 2 stroke oil. should I stick with the same stuff? Quote
kodie Posted December 23, 2009 Report Posted December 23, 2009 I used klotz benol the stuff was great and smells awesome when it burns but if you live in a cold place its not recommended as it will freeze when the temps drop too low I always kept it in a warm place never had a problem using it here in ohio. And I ran my ratio at 38:1 so ya 40 will be just fine everyone has their preference to ratio numbers. I've seen people say they've used 50:1 and others will run 32:1. I never had a problem with 38:1 Quote
alf44 Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 Welcome man. Yes 40:1 is fine. I run the klotz supertechniplate. Like Loco said check with us site sponsors when your ready too do some work, customizing or just need some advice. Quote
