banshee_boy09 Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 I have stock carbs and air box, and a pro design head on it, and I made the mistake of buying cpi's ( im not ported, and i already traded them) but anyways i had a problem with them not wanting to line up with the silencer tubes very well, and they liked to rub the frame, I kept messing with them and got them lined out. Ruko Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 Mine don't fit very well either.. They are super tight to get onto the flanges, to the point I almost give up trying and lots of swearing, and then I have to put a 1/2" spacer on the hangers to move them out so they don't hit the carbs. Once they are on they work awesome but what a bitch to fit. My old T5's would go on and off no problem... not so for the CPI's. Quote
papa_smurf49319 Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 What do you guys expect there a inframe DRAG pipe. My shearers didn't fit the best either. Make sure you leave all the mounts loose while your trying to fit them. Quote
WINDYCITYJOHN400 Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 Mine fit the frame fine, but are hard to get into position. I almost gave up and pulled the carbs to make room to get the head pipes on. One thing I will add is...We've found LOTS of the banshee's have the tail bent up in the back. This will really mess with the fitment of things like pipes, grab bars, plastic, seats, etc. If your bike or his bike is bent up (Or sometimes rarely down) even a little bit in back it could explain why they fit one but not the other. Of 7 banshee's in my group of friends, 1 was bent down and 4 were bent up (2 were BAD) Most of us didn't even notice till we were looking at flag angles one day. You might not think it's bent till you see a straight one. LOL. Quote
GNR101 Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 my cpis hit the head and the frame on the right side and the stinger hung down.. they didnt fit well.. but with a few washers and some time fiddling they now fit well but yeh there drag pipes not for show poneys sick pipe for hp Quote
captainhowdie Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 I have tried everything! Still no luck. I can get them away from the head with a couple washers to shim them out but then it makes them hit the carbs even worse. I dicked with them for 3 hours last night with no luck at all. They always hit the choke pull on the carbs no matter what. Im at a loss. Anybody run these with 39pwk and a billet intake? I would love to hear how you got them to fit Quote

dragbanshee Posted December 20, 2009 Report Posted December 20, 2009 Mine were so tuff to get on, that I was dreding taking them back off! Also had to shim the right side out to clear the noss head, and stinger tubes into head pipes were pretty tight also all mounted. I would hate to be the one having to take them off and put em back on again, I was really missing my T5s at the time. Quote
