quaddad817 Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 im building a lil drag bike im looking for it to make 95hp or so? it will be about 60lbs lighter than stock. i weigh 190lbs it will have a override and +8 linked swinger. i will be running mostly at kermmit sand hills tx. and little sahara ok. the runs we make are probably 300-500 feet. the sand in both places is whats concidered large grain= heavy sand. im going to be ready to get rear paddles soon and just want to get the best tire for me and what im going to do! i dont want to be over or under paddled! i want to get out and keep top end. everyone seams to use haulers or extremes but i never hear about the rippers? ok they have a taller paddle so doesent that mean i can use less paddles than the others hauler lines? id like to know more about the ripper! and would a 9-10 paddle ripper work good for me? im will be using 22x11x8's thanks bro's-qd Quote

I am pretty sure that you would start seriously harming the power put to the ground running the ripper on a small motor. W/the extreme you get a much lighter tire that gets the traction you need. And the Ripper is very spendy! Quote

If you found a 9 paddle ripper used they'd be worth trying but I think on that bike I'd run a 10 or 11 paddle extreme in a 21 or 22" Quote
camatv Posted January 8, 2010 Report Posted January 8, 2010 the "ripper" is an iteresting paddle. its likes TQ the more low end or tq your motor makes the more its gonna like ripers. also at time the sand at lil sahara gets very very dry its not a problem if you know what to do. the taller paddle will kinda dig at higher rpms and slow the bike a bit on top but if you get a 2-4 length jump on the line then it dosent really matter. (unless your RACIN TO ALVA) BUT ont he lower HP banshee's the 10-12 paddle hauler or extreme works good. triple buff 22-11-8. even a 13 paddle hauler is a not so know excellent mix between a 14 and a 12. the exact tire you need for the day your riding for the sand conditions and for the hangover you have is always changing!> Quote

I would honestly say anything bigger than 10 paddle regular sls hauler is going to hurt you...(for under 100hp bike)and with a plus 8 just the regular sls haulers are goiing to be a handful.
