i have a 2001 yamaha banshee i have bills pipes a after market air box boysen carben fiber reeds and the heads are shaved. my carbs started to act funny a little while ago first it was barly noticeable but then it got to the point were i just sucked bad i rebuilt the carbs put brand new float in them i reused the same jets because they were after market i just soked them carb cleaner over night. after i re built them and put new reeds into it was still doing the same thing running rick and spitting. I cheaked the compression its fine i check nthe top end its fine change the head gasket. the carbs are sync good but i have the pilot screw at 1 1/2 turns out and the more i play with it the worst it gets i done know what the deal is with then sometimes it seems like its running lean. i cant figure it out. but the bike runs great only when you are running it hard none stop if anyone has any ideas about the adjusting the pilot screw or any other ideas please let me know

No, air in the air box is a good thing! Hahah, just messin with ya, you probably meant to say gas. Did you run a wire through all of the jets? Soaking them won't assure a clean carb by any means. You need to run a wire through the pilot jets and check your mains as well. Has the weather gotten colder since it was running good?

If it ran good at one time with that jetting then you don't really need to tune your carbs. The airscrews only affect how well your bike idles and comes off idle up to 1/4 throttle. You didn't say you ever pulled your plugs and looked at them to see if it was rich or lean. Did you try a new set of plugs? It sounds to me like you have anothe issue possibly, might check pickup gap it should be .018 from the flywheel, try some new NGK plug boots $3 each(very common) , or check out the stator (common also).
