rb0804 Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 Does anyone make a solid motor mount to replace the stock rubber style? Has anyone tried this? Would it lead to a cracked case? Quote
MikeNick Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 I would think solid mounts would be a baddddd idea... The Banshee mottor has alot of vibration. Quote
bbcmudtruck Posted December 15, 2009 Report Posted December 15, 2009 Why would you want to put solid mounts in it? Quote
rb0804 Posted December 16, 2009 Author Report Posted December 16, 2009 for racing, when you dump the clutch the engine has a tendency to pull towards the rear of the bike causing the chain to jump on hard takeoffs. Quote
jbooker82 Posted December 16, 2009 Report Posted December 16, 2009 Drag frames have a crossmember that goes under the cases. They bolt directly to the underside of the case, getting rid of the factory dog bones. I think it is one of those deals where if you don't need a solid mount then don't do it. I guess which would you risk. Vibration breaking the lower case, or throwing a chain and breaking the case. Don't confuse having a low quality improperly adjusted worn out chain and sprockets vs to much hp. Quote

I had the same problem your having and I changed the rubber bushings in the torsion struts and added that flat washer with the rubber side on all four corners of the motor mounts. hope this makes sense to ya!
