new new to the site and i just got a new banshee on the weekend, the bike sounds good, just that if i give it full pin it boggs for the first second then revs up and somthimes it just stays bogging till it shuts off, i live in canada so its pretty cold (if that has to do somthing with it). i also have been fideling with the idle because it hasent been idling right (just the cable, not the carb). im wondering if this is normal or not and what i can do to fix it, i think its probably the carbs, but the guy who owned it before me never rebuilt it, he said he only riddin it 10 times since 2006 when he bought it used from the dealer.

what can i do to fix this? Thanks

what temp is it jetted for? you might have to put bigger jets in it if it is jetted for warmer temps. cuz colder air is more dense which means its pullin in more oxygen an not enough fuel to burn. so tryin rejetting the carbs.

im not shure what the temperature it is jetted for but im sure its for the summer, the bike is all stock preformace wise exept for the k&n filter, i think the stock jet size is 200, what size of jets should i get for the winter?

well what tempeture do you mean by summer 80 90 100 an what is the tempeture now? i think once below 60 you go up one jet size then 50 go up one more an so on. did you check compression? what do the plugs look like?

well in canada we use celcius and im not sure what temperature its set to exactly, but my summers are like 20-30 degrees celcius (68-86 farenheight) and right now its

-3 (26), i just checked the plugs and there a darker brown which is maybe a little rich. i dont have a compression tester, but i put my thumb over both cylindders and it feels fine.

well you can't really tell by looking at plugs that you have had in forever. you would have to warm the motor up on those plugs. then put brand new plugs in. start it an ride wot 1-6th gear keep it wot for a couple seconds then pull the clutch hit the shut off switch. an coast to a stop not letting the motor turn over then take those plugs out put the other plugs back in ride back to where you where an then cut the threads off on one side an then look at what color it is..

before jetting it id put in new plugs and see if thats the problem and then clean the air filter also try running it with airbox lid off or with airbox lid on / and you said u messed with cable so id check the slides in carbs and make sure they are sync'd / if thats not it then go up jet size and clean carbs out when jetting and take a look at the reeds also / i dont know how people ride in the cold lol once it hits 40f or less my shee is put up for winter
