rjbestracing Posted November 29, 2009 Report Posted November 29, 2009 hi have an 04 banshee which i got threw a trade for a big block chevy motor, bike as i was told is a 5mil stroker which is bored .30 over with stock carbs and stock intake box k@n filter, bike has a paulturner/duncan racing head with unknown sized domes, bike has a full drag port and +5 timing, cpis inframe and everything else stock including swingarm, bike has stock tires they told me to run c-12 gas i was wondering if any one could tell me wats the lowest octane i could use"? i took bike to 1/8 mile dragtrack and could not keep it down it consistly had a mph of 83-85 bike has been said to go 112 wat u think bike is also for sale everything that was descriped is new bike has 10 hrs on it $4500 obo title and originL bill of sdale from yamaha in hand Quote

Bill Posted November 29, 2009 Report Posted November 29, 2009 If that is true id keep running the c-12 fuel,if you want to run less expensive fuel you got to swap the domes out for larger ones. But expect a little loss of power. Quote

But expect a little loss of power. yea thanks cause the guy said the shop told him he could run av gas which is 103 but when racing to c-12 so i was thinking to use av gas but dnt want to blow it up, i could probaliy use 110 octane also right Quote
Bill Posted November 29, 2009 Report Posted November 29, 2009 You could probably run 110 oct just make sure you have no detonation going on. If your engine is making a pinging noise then its detonating. Quote

If your engine is making a pinging noise then its detonating. thanks alot hey last question if the bikes getting 83-85 mph in 1/8 mile drag track and im just begging 5th gear when i finish 1/8 mile wat top end am i looking at cause ive been told bike goes 110-112 mph and i dont kno b and do u think thats stock sprockets Quote
