so this is the rundown for the bike......from what i was told its a stock motor, which might hav ebeen bored slightly to freshen it up....light mx port, K&N pods, toomey t5's and a PD coolhead.

The day i got it back to my house, i was having an idling problem with it. It would die after 2minutes max, of idling. P/O said that was "normal and to just ride it, and not worry about the idling problem". SO i brought it to my buddies house, which is on a piece of land, and was just cruisin around, checkin out the bike(30mins tops). Afterwards it was rough getting it started, but it started. A week later the bike doesnt start period banghead . IT IS getting spark, and gas. But a compression test revealed roughly around 100-110psi in both cylinders. There has been a change in temp outside, obviously, since winter is coming. But NO change in elevation. Im lost. if anyone has some input, id greatly appreciate it. :notworthy::cheers:

I have had simalar problems with mine..... had a rough idle or wouldn't idle at all i road mine anys it got worse and it eventally wouldn't run at all i had to adjust needle hieght, floats, change my pilot jets and main jets...... also know if i let mine sit for about a week the oil and race gas will seperate in the carb and gum carbs up and it wont run and i have to pull the carbs apart and clean them

well, first, long periods of idling is bad for overheating anyways, but it is normal to load up with fuel, due to the way it's tuned for performance. if the mixture is set to idle perfect, you will usually get a little lean stutter just off idle, so you richen the idle mixture with the screw and it will not be best for idling long, but it will run better otherwise.......that aside, airleaks can develope, such as cracking intake rubber, and also create an idle problem......the 2 idle problems are similar, and hard to tell the difference, unless you are adjusting your airscrews for the new environment at each ride, and it adjusts funny. also, hard starting, usually stems from either airleak/lean or plugged jets. if you havn't adjusted your main jetting for the colder temps, and you have even a minor airleak, it can become a major problem. sorry this is long winded, but basically.....

check for airleaks and plugged jets on the side that has the lower compression, probably want to do a leakdown unless it's obvious. your cylinders should be less than 5psi from each-other on a healthy engine. next, pop the head off and inspect the pistons/cylinders, for heat damage. at the least, you are looking at a re-ring @ this point. also, pay close attention to the ports, and if they are properly chamfered to keep the rings from catching.
