sToCk7miLL Posted October 13, 2009 Report Posted October 13, 2009 i rescently put a new clutch basket, hub and barnett clutch in my bike... instead of a lockout... i put heavy deuty springs and a single R6 plate (not with the fibers) the 2nd one in and replacing a single disc from the original clutch plate .... anyone have experience with this??? seems to hold up lately Quote
banshee_terror_ Posted October 13, 2009 Report Posted October 13, 2009 it should hold up fine. remember it cam out of a street bike with allot more hp being pushed threw it than a shee. it should b fine but idk what your talking about i herd clutch r6 in banshee so yah Quote
rubberneck Posted October 13, 2009 Report Posted October 13, 2009 im trying to understand what you wrote. If i follow you, you put in a barnett clutch kit then replaced one of the steels with an r6 steel? If this is the case i dont see it doing anything for you. Its holding due to the heavy duty springs. The heavy duty clutches that a lot of us use have all FZR streetbike fibers and barnett steels. 3 hd springs holds fine with most duner type motors, and i ran this clutch set up on my 421 cub with 6 hd springs and no lockup Quote

bbcmudtruck Posted October 14, 2009 Report Posted October 14, 2009 Sounds like that will only make your springs heavier. Heavy duty springs alone should provide the same results. First time I've heard of it though. Quote

First time I've heard of it though. well seeings that i have 90-100Hp duner i really dont want a lockout..... so the guys at R-ATV in PHX arizona recommended that it would make my springs heavier duty, because i replaced the clutch in like 3months of riding... so they said thats what they do with their big hp bikes that they dune and its held up pretty well..... havent slipped yet...... I was just wondering if other people have heard of it.... Quote
