old roost Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 Well guys after waiting for parts, and a couple long weekends, The Banshee is running!!!!!! Finished all electrics yesterday added fuel oil coolant etc. Stated on second kick......I was amazed. Performed about 10 heat cycles then took for a slow ride up and down the street, didnt go above 3rd gear (no plastics seat oh and no brakes yet LOL)I was really amazed how smooth and well it ran after basicaly a total rebuild. I still need to get the idle set up when it comes down to idle it will want to die if i just feather the throttle slightly it run perfect. Now i am having an issue bleeding the front brakes it is taking FOREVER any advise on that would be great. I have to figure out how to post a video of it running. Quote
papa_smurf49319 Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 wow congrats, you must have been really anxious to ride it without brakes lol. Flinstone it when ya needed to stop? Quote

T_Shee Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 i prolly blead my brakes for 2 hours when i put mine back together. if you dont have access to a vacuum pump then id just say keep on bleeding and make sure to use dot 4 fluid Quote
banshee_terror_ Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 thats cool man i been waiting 2 do the same thing. Quote
Duneman101 Posted September 28, 2009 Report Posted September 28, 2009 pick up the front end and drop it a few times, it will help get the air to move, it's a real bitch to get those lines filled. a vacuum pump bleeder is only $20 at auto zone, it's worth it even if you only ever bleed your brakes twice in a lifetime... which probably won't be the case. I already did that. How about opening the nips and let it gravity drain?maybe put a balloon over the res and push it to help the fluid move? Like you said the vacume pump is only $20 but that is $20 more towards the banshee futur fund LOL Quote
