sangheraent Posted August 28, 2009 Report Posted August 28, 2009 well i just got back from the dunes and the first day my banshee ran amazing then I went on a night ride and only 1 light worked. then it just shut off like a wire got pulled just like an instant cut. then after some kicking it turned back on again and it rode good with 1 light. Then coming down banshee hill my lights turned off all together. and then in the morning the bike wouldnt start for like an hour of kicking. then once it started it kept turning off when it hit a bump or so and it only had like 60% power. it turned back on if i was going fast and hitting a bunch of bumps. it ran great when it was hot but whenever I gave it a rest or let it cool a little it would keep turning off. then the last day it just wouldnt start and it packed it in. i checked the stator and it was fine im thinking it could be a coil problem or something? anyone had this issue before? locogato11283 Posted August 28, 2009 Report Posted August 28, 2009 make sure your coil is grounded properly. the two tabs it mounts to need to be bare metal. Quote
Snopczynski Posted August 28, 2009 Report Posted August 28, 2009 make sure your coil is grounded properly. the two tabs it mounts to need to be bare metal. Run it and start wiggling the harness. If it shuts off, then you know what area the problem is in. Start looking for shorts or continuity issues. Quote
nickbt207 Posted August 29, 2009 Report Posted August 29, 2009 The past couple days I have been having similar issues. The other night I had been riding for an hour or so running mint then pulled in the clutch and slowed down to go through a gate and the motor just died. Wouldnt start let it sit for a few minnutes and it fired right up. The next day i went out riding and ran fine and died again when I slowed down. Couldnt get it started and while i was being towed back just dropped it in gear and it fired right up. Ran the next day then died again while idleing and cant get it started at all now. Checked stator, pickup gap, changed plugs, checked plug wires, checked kill switch, all seem good. Anyone got any ideas Quote
sangheraent Posted August 29, 2009 Author Report Posted August 29, 2009 yeah thats exsactly what happens to mine it just cuts out then I give it like a minute break and its good to go again. i checked my stator as well and it was fine i checked my coil and it was all tight but it could be something internal Quote
nickbt207 Posted September 1, 2009 Report Posted September 1, 2009 Figure anything out yet? I have spent hours testing and re testing everything. I have also been checking all of my wires for any exposed or melted wire still no luck. Im thinking about just starting to replace things it could be until its fixed. Quote
