Building my First Posted August 10, 2009 Report Posted August 10, 2009 I just traded some stock carbs for some 33mm PWK's. One of the carbs kept leaking and for some reason he didn't want to rebuild them. He has Pro Circuit pipes too and said they felt strong down low. I thought 30mm's would be the max for the Pro Circuits, but I know it's a good trade. My mods are in my sig, my porting is for CPI's with 35mm's but is supposed to perform good the my pipes and carbs, was just planning ahead when I paid for the porting. Quote

Building my First Posted August 10, 2009 Author Report Posted August 10, 2009 Anyone have any experience with Velocity Accelerators from FAST? Says they're no gimmick! I wonder if they would help until I changed pipes. http://farmandsandtoys.com/partdetail.asp?partid=157 Quote

Building my First Posted August 11, 2009 Author Report Posted August 11, 2009 (edited) What exactly did an "All around" port job configure of in your signature? The porting is designed to be used with CPI's and 35's. I know a guy that had the same port and had to sell his CPI's and carbs cause he needed some cash, he put some Pro Circuits with stock carbs back on the cylinders. It ran awesome, like it had an MX or trail port. Edited August 11, 2009 by Building my First Quote
dajogejr Posted August 11, 2009 Report Posted August 11, 2009 If it's ported to run with 35's and CPI...it'll run fine with 33's and CPI. I never heard of porting for a certain pipe AND carb combo... You won't be able to tell the difference between 33s and 35s...seat of the pants or a dyno. Quote
Snopczynski Posted August 11, 2009 Report Posted August 11, 2009 The cpi pipes and the pro circuit pipes are two entirely different rpm ranged pipes. If the port job works good with the cpi's, I dont see how it could have worked good with the pc's. Smaller carbs would be more appointed to work with pro circuits. Quote
2strokespirit Posted August 17, 2009 Report Posted August 17, 2009 I don't really know if this will answer your question, but I have a agg trail 4mm motor with PCs and 33mm PWKs.... This thing is a beast, there is TONS, I mean TONS of low end power with a very strong smooth band and still GOOD top end... You can "port for a pipe" but its backwards.......... PCs just impress me more and more.... Seriously.... Quote
Building my First Posted August 18, 2009 Author Report Posted August 18, 2009 Turns out the guy measured them wrong. They are only 1 3/16" not 1 5/16", so they are 28mm PWK. It looks like they've been bored out, they measure 29.5,mm. Anyways I know these will work better with the rest of my mods so I'm happy with the trade. Quote
dajogejr Posted August 18, 2009 Report Posted August 18, 2009 For some reason, 28PWKs use a completely different body than the rest of the PWK series. They don't look like the 33, 35 or 39PWK series. But they work just as well! Quote
