schamms Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 Just finally got the bike back together for the summer and now im having idle issues. I think my pilot jetting is too big. Current jetting is main: 260 pilot: 30 elevation: 715ft Only modification to the bike is DG exhaust(sorry i dont know the model i bought the bike with them on it.) Oh and I just had the top end rebuilt so there isnt any compression problems. thanks in advance guys Quote
stokes77 Posted July 27, 2009 Report Posted July 27, 2009 Sounds like you're pilot is too big to me. Try a 27.5 or even 25. You can also adjust the idle with the air screws on the left side of each carb. Going in makes you go richer. I'd drop down to a 27.5, start you're air screws at 1.5-2 turns out and work from there. If you still can't get it like that try a 25. Quote

Seems much better than when i had the 30's in there but still doesnt seem to want to idle without giving a bit a throttle. Think it may be the needle position? I believe its in the middle but ill have to check when i get home from work Quote

Have you tried to sync your carbs and adjust your idle and air screws ? Quote

Have you tried to sync your carbs and adjust your idle and air screws ? Well i had some more tim eto mess with it last night and still cant seem to get it idling good. once it warms up it doesnt want to idle and its boggy in the first half or so of 1st 2nd and 3rd gear until it hits the powerband. Should i try even smaller pilots? I just cant seem to get these, from my diagnosis, "carb problems" figured out. Otherwise is it possibly electrical? Im lost. Thanks Quote
