yamahalic63 Posted July 25, 2009 Report Posted July 25, 2009 Is this normal?? It's not bad at speed, the faster the better. But if running slow or stopped it's way harder to move the bars than stock. It's all yfz450 from the frame to the wheels with ltr450 shocks and +2 banshee tierods. I regreased all the balljoints and tierod ends and still hard to steer. Any input anyone??? Quote

Are any of your ball joints at a "tweaked" angle? That's what it sounds like to me. Especially if it gets better at speed, because your bike squats more at speed. So it would make the ball joints at less of an angle. Check over your stuff before you have to start replacing ball joints all the time. Quote
350scabarat Posted July 25, 2009 Report Posted July 25, 2009 Are the front rims not maybe flipd around to get extra width? I know thats hard on stearing. . And u get alotof bumpsteer Quote
yamahalic63 Posted July 26, 2009 Author Report Posted July 26, 2009 (edited) I used LTR450 shocks so the suspension travel wasn't limited by the ball joints. The balljonts aren't binding and the wheels are at stock offset. Any more guesses??? Edited July 26, 2009 by yamahalic63 Quote
docjcwatson Posted July 26, 2009 Report Posted July 26, 2009 Yup. One more thing to check out. Look at the bearing for the steering stem. Quote
