The previous owners might/might not have known what they were doing - im not sure. what i do know is its been ported. please see below for detailed photos of the cylinders and port work and give me feedback on what you think they did and what type of ports this is for... SAVAGE420
Thats the "so fast i slapped yo momma porting." J/K  Cant really tell how its ported by eye. Need to measure it all out to know exactly whats been done. But going by how it looks, it looks like the guy knew what he was doing at least. Proly a dune/drag set up. Throw up a pic or 2 of the transfers! Where did you get the cyls from? You run them yet? Run good? Edited July 23, 2009 by savage420
Snopczynski
You need to measure the port widths, and heights. Also the distance from the top of the ports to the deck, and the bottom of the ports to the deck. No one can really tell you much by looking at a picture of the cylinder. Even if we could tell you anything visuallyat all, it would have been by looking at the bottom of the transfers, and you didn't give us a picture of that. thebrittishguy
this is a pic with the piston inside - you can see that the port fills the space compared to the piston hole. the piston hole matched the original port size which are the transfers?? please explain and ill get pics up soon. i have pics of the pistons too if that helps anything Edited July 23, 2009 by thebrittishguy
blowit
I am already a bit skeptical because that exhaust port finish looks like dog meat! Best to get some good pics and measurements and lets start there. B

badassbanshee479
you need to measure from the top of the cylinder where the head mounts.... down to the top of the exhaust port... measure how wide the exhaust port is.... then measure down from the top of the cylinder to the top of the trans for ports... the ones on the sides (between the intake ports and the exhaust port..) also if ya could measure from the top of the cylinder down to the bottom of the exhaust port and to the bottom of the transfer ports... Just run them and you will proly like them. ok ill leave it then - i have run it before and they rip on the top end. insane rush. although i am having issues with it since replacing all the gaskets and plugs. my compression is 115psi at 2 000m above sea level. carbs cleaned out everything torqued to the correct spec new spark plugs struggles to start where before it was in 1 or two kicks with the choke on.... It just wont stay on or idle. backfires like mad. both cylinders getting way too hot and i have no idea why...... sometimes when i finally get it started it seems it only runs on 1 cylinder. any tips or should i start a new thread? tommy346
on the running issue, did you put the hose between the carbs back on??? if not that could be why its running funny
