Shee Man 24 Posted July 4, 2009 Report Posted July 4, 2009 I just got a 2006 banshee, it has cpi pipes, jetted, filters, v-force reeds, boost bottle. I was wondering because a buddy of mine told me that the cpi pipes can only be used on motors that are ported and polished. Now the quad runs great, iam in oregon in coos bay on the dunes and took it out today, the only thing that i noticed is that when its ideling and i nail the throttle, it boggs and stops running, also when i am going from a stop in first gear and i dont rev it up alot, it bogs and wants to quit, are all of these things tied together. Please help me Quote
shawn941 Posted July 4, 2009 Report Posted July 4, 2009 banshees have no low end in the first place,,,,,so just rev it And dump it man,,,and get rid of the boost bottle for sure,,,,, Quote
Darthwall Posted July 4, 2009 Report Posted July 4, 2009 where did you buy it from? sounds like the jetting is a lil off ya when you are running those pipes the bottom end isnt there as much as other pipes like a set of fmf or mid pipes cpi's kick in the top rpm's hard check out your jetting? what carbs, cylinders, port work has been dome to it? also gearing in the sprokets are you running paddles? how many Quote
00tbanshee Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 to me it sounds like a pilot or a/f tunning issue.mess with the a/f screw first and see if you can get it to clear up.remember don't go no farther the 2.5 turns out on that.it will be fine with the cpi's on it i have rode many non ported shee's with them on but with a port job they will really shine Quote
Shee Man 24 Posted July 6, 2009 Author Report Posted July 6, 2009 banshees have no low end in the first place,,,,,so just rev it And dump it man,,,and get rid of the boost bottle for sure,,,,, I dont know, its pretty much a stock motor, when i get home i think iam going to just get it ported and polished and maybe a cool head, but this leads to another question what do i do with the cool head, what size domes do i run, iam new to this so i have no idea, also iam running hualer extreme 10 paddle tires in the sand. So any help will help. Quote
sheerider1026 Posted July 6, 2009 Report Posted July 6, 2009 sounds like you need to contact a builder.. its the best way to get the bike setup to perform the way you want.. Quote
alf44 Posted July 6, 2009 Report Posted July 6, 2009 My bike has always had that same problem. Ive changed carb setups 3 times and it always happened. the way i fixed it on the last 2 carb setups was i put my clip on the needle all the way down and it was almost perfect. I can stab it from a stand still and she goes. Contacting a builder is the way to go. cascade innovations in boring oregon did my motor. There are several in our area. White knuckle, redline, and a few others. Im starting a shop up here in longview but im not ready to do the major motor stuff yet. Im still learning also. personally i would call chris at cascade and talk with him. he'll help you trouble shoot over the phone. good luck. Quote
