RagunCajun Posted July 3, 2009 Report Posted July 3, 2009 went to a plug chop since my bike was finally able to be held WOT w/o falling flat. I've got 162 mains on there with my 4mil set up with 30oko's(sea level). but that doesnt matter. Every bike is different. It pulls like a raped ape till almost topped out then "blurps" then kinda doesnt wanna rev out although rpm's stay constant. Seems like it's loading up because it cant get to the peak rpm like it should. Hence the plug chop. I think i should go one size lower on the mains. I'm a bit rich. http://rc.superdave2u.com/MyBanshee/plugch...ns6-31-09-1.JPG http://rc.superdave2u.com/MyBanshee/plugch...ns6-31-09-2.JPG http://rc.superdave2u.com/MyBanshee/plugch...ns6-31-09-3.JPG http://rc.superdave2u.com/MyBanshee/plugch...ns6-31-09-4.JPG thoughts....? GrMeyer Posted July 3, 2009 Report Posted July 3, 2009 im going to throw my .02 out there and say that you are lean. it is kind of hard to tell if those are 2mm rings or not. But I dont go buy how the plugs look...I tune my bike by the way it feels. It take me longer to chop a plug then it is to throw new jets in and go for a run. It is spiten and spuddering as you want to climb rpms and if you go half throttle you will climp fast? if that is it (IE you are lean) if it boggs then you have rich condition. but I always richen my mains first to see if it helps and if it gets worse then you know you need to go lean.. ToomeySheeLE Posted July 3, 2009 Report Posted July 3, 2009 I have 165mains in my flotech 4mm right now.. it revs all the way out and pulls hard throughout.. I'm running 35pwks though.. Quote

What octane fuel? Quote
Snopczynski Posted July 3, 2009 Report Posted July 3, 2009 go down then, if it gets worse, then go up 2 sizes and check it. Your gonna need to go off feel from here. Quote
RagunCajun Posted July 3, 2009 Author Report Posted July 3, 2009 went from 165-155 now. same thing. I just think the right carb isnt getting the fuel. Ill tear into it tomorrow. God damn there goes my trip for tomorrow. Quote
Rodneya Posted July 3, 2009 Report Posted July 3, 2009 Other than race gas leaving no ring, how much difference does octane make? 91 or 93. Sorry, don't mean to jack your thread, but it has come up a few times Quote
AKheathen Posted July 4, 2009 Report Posted July 4, 2009 (edited) Other than race gas leaving no ring, how much difference does octane make? 91 or 93. Sorry, don't mean to jack your thread, but it has come up a few times alot. your jetting will change. (you will need to richen a couple sizes for lower octane) and you will be more prone to detonation if you have higher compression or timing. also if it sits a while. that, and higher octane pump contains more touline/xylene, depending on who made it. that means that means that 94 pump could be closer to 40% solvent. less solvent means more deposit buildup. sleeper06 Posted July 4, 2009 Report Posted July 4, 2009 That looks damn close tho,is therte a prob with the way shes running Quote
RagunCajun Posted July 5, 2009 Author Report Posted July 5, 2009 Yeah, one carb wasnt getting enough fuel. It was running try due to one float not being set correctly. So disregard this thread. The plug chop was not done properly. Thanks though for looking. Gonna do a proper one next weekend and see where i am at. Should be a breeze. Quote
sheerider1026 Posted July 5, 2009 Report Posted July 5, 2009 looks a little lean to mee.. i would go up a size to see what happens... a little of topic but i just notived you sig: i love percy sledge's music We skipped a light fandango, Turned cartwheels 'cross the floor. I was feeling kind of seasick, But the crowd called out for more Quote
RagunCajun Posted July 5, 2009 Author Report Posted July 5, 2009 Oh i thought Procol Harum was the original singer. Good to know. As for the plugs, gonna do a plug chop next weekend. I beat on it so ima leave it rich whatever that size it happens to be and run a little extra oil. Since my bike doesnt have 6th, i want a little extra protection. Quote
