Ever since I installed this cub, the exhaust mounting is much lower than the stockers. Therefore, shifting the pipe and where they will run throughout the length of the bike. Needless to say, I got these Trinitys on and with thanks to Permatex, they are nice and snug.

Problem though... the pod filters do not have much room. The left side is touching, but the right isn't (touching the exhaust that is). I just got my black outerwears today, put them on, and now I have the oputerwears in danger.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I remember seeing here in the past where there was some kind of tape, a heat tape of some sort, to wrap around the exhaust for situations like mine here.

Is this right? If so, where do I get it?

Not sure what I want to so here... those heat araps look bulky as heck. I thought there was some kind of tape to use, but if I need to get the heat wraps, I will.

The reason behind the Cascade sleeves being the way to go is that you need to have an air gap between the tube and whatever is touching it..... If you just use tape or header wrap, you will still transfer most of the heat to whaterever is touching the pipe. :geek:

If you get the ceramic high heat tape for dragsters it would work I have only tried it on muscle cars and it works great if you get the pre made wraps they have with the shiney outer cover it does work but only for an amount of time I have used it at work on a propane torch that spits out about 150 gallons a day. it works for a while but use the header wrap that doesnt look preaty and you wrap it good couple of layers

I have good luck with the header wrap. I got it at either autozone or checkers. It's not burning up my outerwears and the header wrap is holding up fine. It keeps the heat in the pipe a lot better.
