ohiobanshee Posted June 21, 2009 Report Posted June 21, 2009 Check your pickup gap. It should be around 18-22 thousands. Quote
hauser2169 Posted June 21, 2009 Author Report Posted June 21, 2009 Check your pickup gap. It should be around 18-22 thousands. is that the little black box on the bottom right of the whole assembly? Quote
hauser2169 Posted June 21, 2009 Author Report Posted June 21, 2009 is that the little black box on the bottom right of the whole assembly? k i just pulled it around. im gettin power my lights will turn on... and when setting it to plus 4 do i put the plate in the line in the middle of the case? Quote
Ineedmoney Posted June 21, 2009 Report Posted June 21, 2009 you use the line to set 0. then u adjust it to put +4 at that point. Quote
ohiobanshee Posted June 21, 2009 Report Posted June 21, 2009 is that the little black box on the bottom right of the whole assembly? Yes,you have two tabs on the flywheel, you measure between the tab and pickup. Quote

hauser2169 Posted June 21, 2009 Author Report Posted June 21, 2009 It tells the bike when to fire. k thanks il give it a try Quote
hauser2169 Posted June 22, 2009 Author Report Posted June 22, 2009 It tells the bike when to fire. k did everything stated above. still no spark. so i put the stock plate back on. no spark. could both my plugs fried at the same time? or could it be something else? Quote
dajogejr Posted June 22, 2009 Report Posted June 22, 2009 Highly, highly unlikely, unless you fouled them both out before you swapped plates. You're missing a ground wire or as said...pickup gap is wrong. HOW did you remove your flywheel, with a thread in puller or a jaw type? Quote

You're missing a ground wire or as said...pickup gap is wrong. HOW did you remove your flywheel, with a thread in puller or a jaw type? i purchased the tread in puller. but i did leave my garage for a few and my freind decieded to adjust the gap again .. but with a hammer. he said he lightly hit it. could that be the reason. or if the timing is off so horidly it wouldnt get spark correct? all help is apprecitated. god i hate my life Quote
dajogejr Posted June 22, 2009 Report Posted June 22, 2009 Friends don't let friends work on their banshees with a hammer... I would say that could very well be the problem. When you pull the spark plugs out of the motor and check for spark, it doesn't matter if it's +10 or -10 on the timing, both plugs should spark (and both will spark at the same time) Tell your buddy he owes you a pickup coil.
