Misssppelllleddd Posted June 16, 2009 Report Posted June 16, 2009 I was working on the linkage for my 'shee and I looked up the the torque spec for the linkage bolts and it says 82ft lbs for the shock and two other bolts and 76 (or something high like that) for the linkage bolt that goes to the frame. Now it seems a little too much for these bolts but I tried to tighten one that much anyways and stripped the threads on the bolt and ended up having to cut off the nut to get the bolt out. Is this torque spec right? Quote
LiftdT4R Posted June 16, 2009 Report Posted June 16, 2009 Dont take my work for it, but I believe so. I was really anal when I reassembled my frame, and I remember following ALL of the torque specs in the Clymer manual. Unless I have a different edition then you, they worked for me. Quote
gregrob Posted June 16, 2009 Report Posted June 16, 2009 The manual is wrong if that's what it says... the spec is 22ft lbs for ALL the shock mounting bolts, and dogbone bolts. The spec for the large bolt that the swingarm pivots on, (technical name: pivot shaft) is 61ft lbs Quote
