Me and a buddy were just racing, I was on my 2000 shee in my sig and my buddy was on his 501cc YFZ big bore with inframe drag pipe, +6 swinger, cams, ported, the works and from the jump we were neck and neck, when I shift to 5th is when I start pulling away, end of the race hes at my rear tire(300-500ft, give or take) . I know I shouldnt be beating him with my stock stroke! Or at least I think its stock. The guy I bought the bike from didnt know too much about bikes and he bought it from a guy in atlanta who never mentioned anything about a oversized crank.

I just inspected it and I dont see any spacer plates beneath the cylinders so I pretty much ruled out a longrod 4mil, but how would I be able to tell what size I have??

You wouldnt see a spacer plate most of the time because the better way to build a stroker is to have the cylinders ported for the longer crank.

I don't have a stroker and I wouldnt know how to tell without opening it up, but maybe someone else will chime in that does.

Judging by your sig it sounds like you have quite a bit of work done to the bike, and Banshees do pull hard so I'm thinking even without a stroker, you should be pretty close to beating that bike, depending on the rider too of course.

you cant tell because you have an aftermarket head with aftermarket removable domes. wich means the domes could be cut for the pistons to slide in side them. that way you wouldnt have the spacer plate and couldnt see the domes unless you cracked the motor open or just took the head off

No you dont hate the fact that I dont know EVERY shortcut, your just jealous as hell and you wish you had that monster. And by the way, I do know my fair share, but I havent had my shees for 10 yrs like some ppl on here and I know opening the cases would definately tell me what I have, but I wanted to know a quicker, easier way just like the sandrage said, if the piston clears the cyl its a stroker, BIG HELP! Ill be pullin off the head soon

pull a spark plug out and measure the stroke with a vernier or digital caliper

with so many variables, you just never know.

If i was about to watch the race, ida put money on the yfz. Although if you can get a ported banshee to hook off the line and throughout the race, it's a pretty decent drag bike for something not drag/track only specific.

im just saying if you knew anything seeing how you have a 10mill you would know something about a stroker but you dont. ive only had my shee for like 6 months and know more than you about a stroker when i have a stock stroke bike.

If you had some better pipes it wouldn't even be close. My friends with banshees that have basically the same stuff as you whoop on 500cc big bore 4 strokers on the hill all day.
