Rodneya Posted May 24, 2009 Report Posted May 24, 2009 Today the weather was just great. Warm and sunny and I was ripping through the trails. Quote
Rodneya Posted May 24, 2009 Author Report Posted May 24, 2009 Almost all of the snow has melted now, and there are a lot of bears around. Quote
SAVAGE420 Posted May 24, 2009 Report Posted May 24, 2009 Yeah looks like fun rod. Where is that? Up west Harrison? The snow line over here is still pretty low so i cant go way up into the alpine yet, but still a fun time just all the mud in the wet trails SUCKS, so im waiting for it to dry out. Ive seen quite a few bears out already looking for food, not while out riding but in my damn yard and around my place again. :: Nothing the good ol' potato cannon don't take care of though Quote
vegas banshee Posted May 24, 2009 Report Posted May 24, 2009 dam. looks like fun to me...looks like your ridin season is my off season haha fuckin vegas heat hit like 105 last week Quote

I hear you with the mud. Cut plastics and mud = big ass mess. I was not expecting to see a bear as they usually get out of the way long before you see them. But I came hauling around a corner and it was standing in the trail. I slamed on brakes and locked up the rear, so she stalled right in front of the dam bear. Lucky the dust and noise scared it off. I grew up in Africa, and lived in places where it was common to see lions and elephants every day, but bears I dont really know about. well I have been told that BC stands for bear country. I was riding with a guy on a Can Am 800. That thing is a beast. It weighs over 700lb, but it hauls ass on the trails. and it ploughs through the snow pretty good too. What is half way between vancouver and where you stay. We should meet upr for a good rip through the mountains sometime. Quote

Kamloops area is KICK ASS to ride and kinda half way from me to the coast. Up in bachelor Highths on the north shore of kamloops is just a sick place to ride. Havent been there in a long time though. Would be sweet to meet up out there some time with a few people this summer. Quote
Rodneya Posted May 24, 2009 Author Report Posted May 24, 2009 dam. looks like fun to me...looks like your ridin season is my off season haha fuckin vegas heat hit like 105 last week Bring on the heat. I wish it got that hot here. I have lived in places where it is 110 to 115 in summer, and the nights are not much cooler. I lived in Toronto for 4 years, and they have a humidex factor. It is like wind chill, but it is for humidity on hot days. real shithole of a place to live. Stupid cold in winter and way too hot and polluted in summer. Keep the hot weather going. I am going to be in Vegas in 3 weeks. Quote

But i was riding at my uncles farm with a couple of friends with 4x4 since he only has mud holes. But i rode my shee on the gravel where i was in control and king of the 4x4  Quote
Meat Posted May 30, 2009 Report Posted May 30, 2009 Damn. I'd love to experience Vancouver BC. Great pictures. If I could live anywhere in the world, Vancouver is near or at the top of my list. Quote
Rodneya Posted May 31, 2009 Author Report Posted May 31, 2009 I have lived in 6 countries, in the city and out in butt fuck nowhere, and I recon Vancouver is top of the list. Gets a bit depressing in in the winter though with all the rain. Quote
evro Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 kamloops is 1500 km from where im at. if i'm going to travel that far to ride, i'll be getting a few days of it in. i love the mountains, have been through several times, and there would be some kickass riding there for sure. got a buddy in kelowna, (he used to live in Surrey) hes not a rider, but if i were to be out that way anyways.... ...always looking for an excuse to ride Quote
