scottzimmerman Posted May 13, 2009 Report Posted May 13, 2009 will that fusion paint work on old faded plastic and tanks? Quote
AKheathen Posted May 14, 2009 Report Posted May 14, 2009 what........the hell... is that? interesting piece. stared at the sus. for a min. scuff it up good with grey scotch brite first, and concentrate on all the little crevises and edges. do 4-5 med-light coats-as per directions, then wetsand with 1000-1200, and buff shinny, after cured. the plastic might buff out without paint, though. R. Rollins Posted May 22, 2009 Report Posted May 22, 2009 I took an old suzuki PE250 and it had faded plastics on it. Real dry and chalky feel to it. I sanded all the plastics in three stages of grit from rough to very fine grit paper on it. I then did one last sanding with 1000 grit paper and then put my professional auto polisher on it and hit it at high speed with light grit glazing compound. I then used turtle wax on it at high speeds after washing the pads really well. That plastic came out looking brand new again. Just an idea for you being as using that stuff you are discussing will come off when the first time you spill a drop of gas on it. Polish it my man and it will look great. Quote
