Keyser Soze Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 I was eatting dinner tonite with someone on our local county fair board...They are hurting for money. They have a couple of none-fair mud bogs set up to generate some more income...they have also been trying to set up some ATV drag races, a ton of people turn out for the regular fair ones. They called all of the local moto shops to sponser it, but due to the cost of insurance noone wants to touch it. I called a local promotion company who has the right type of insurance. They said they would do it for 1/2 the gate. They would need at least 60 or 70 people to be interested. Anyone can sponser it who picks up the insurance, its typically a 50/50 split. Im not interested in making money, would just like to see it happen. Is there a demand for 200/300 foot dirt drag races in the mid west? Would it be better to have a promotion company do it, or look into buying the insurance. 60-70 people obtainable? Quote

bbcmudtruck Posted May 9, 2009 Report Posted May 9, 2009 I help run a horse shoe drag club here in north west Missouri. We go town to town and have the Lions club sponsor the races. Their insurance covers us with no problem. We look for towns that have truck/tractor pulls and use their pulling track. Its perfect for atv racing and they will have the equipment to manicure it if needed between classes. Plus they usually have a cook shack they will set up and make themselves a little more money while providing us with food! Quote
