Sorry about that toolman I ment to say cases and I do have a manual,but it does not say if you can change the crank seals without splitting the cases and I Was told you could but would like to know for sure.Thanks and sorry about the run on sentence I'm no good at righting.

The crank seals have a rib around them that sit in a groove in the cases. You must split the cases to properly install the seals. The sprocket shaft seal, shift shaft seal, and clutch arm seals do not have a rib, and can be removed and replaced without splitting the cases.

 

Just split the cases from the bottom so you do not have to remove the cylinders... :thumbsup:

sorry to jump in on this post but i had a ? about my seals.

i installed new ones about 4 months ago and now im building a 4 mil so i have to split my cases again does that mean i need new seals?

I would change them. Why not your already there. Preventive maintenance is always the way to go!
