i just bought or put on layaway i should say, an 89 banshee that has a 410 stroker motor in it. i bought it from a used cycle shop for $2250. all he knows is that it has a 410 stroker motor in it, i looked at the carbs and it has keihin carbs on it,not sure what size they are. i guess what my question is i know a stock banshee comes with about 43 hp stock,,,,could anyone tell what this 410 might put out and what kind of horsepower? and it obviously would have been ported? any replies appreiciated

Banshees do not come with 43 hp stock.

Banshees are 37HP stock.

your right about the hp, aguy that did some motor work for me told me that and he dragged his running on alcohol, 5.9 in the 1/8 so i figured he knew,,,but you only pointed out about me being wrong on the stock hp and didnt address the question,,,,thanx

Depends on every thing you have. Who did the porting and what type? That would be the biggest part of how much power you would see.

 

Also timing, compression and fuel type too.

thats the problem,,the guy has no idea about what hs been done as far as porting and what not,,,,all he knows is its a 410 stroker motor and cant contact the previous owner. i was just curious in some opinions and i know its hard to say,thanx for the replies and any future ones.....

if its got a stroker crank with no portwork and bolt ons, it could be around the 45-50hp range.

 

however, if its been ported, depending on what type of port work and the builder, it could easily have over double the stock hp.

That's what i was going to say. Portwork will make or brake it. With the right set up, it will be a very fun bike. I wouldnt focus on #'s but just look over everything and make sure she runs in tip top shape.
