Wertzy Posted April 24, 2009 Report Posted April 24, 2009 Ok so this may be a noobie question, but my friend and I can NOT find out for the life of us how in the hell to get these pads back over the disk. When the pads are in, the disk seems to keep hitting this little metal "bump" on the mount. How do I get these things back on? lol The front's went on without a hitch...I just don't understand it. lol Quote

Wertzy Posted April 24, 2009 Author Report Posted April 24, 2009 did you compress the piston in the caliper first?? Yeah I did. Its the mount that has the little metal bump thats preventing it from going on. Quote
jjn56 Posted April 24, 2009 Report Posted April 24, 2009 even with my caliper compressed I had to machine a little off of each pad to get them to fit. Quote
Wertzy Posted April 24, 2009 Author Report Posted April 24, 2009 even with my caliper compressed I had to machine a little off of each pad to get them to fit. Yeah thats what I thought I might have to do. Either that or grind off that little bump. Quote
Wertzy Posted April 27, 2009 Author Report Posted April 27, 2009 Anyone else have any suggestions? We are still completely stumped on this. I don't want to start grinding something I shouldn't be when its something simple lol. Quote
swhitey917 Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 I just put new EBC rear brake pads on mine. all i did was compress the piston down all the way, made sure my first brake pad was back as far as it would go and i held the second pad and it slide down onto my disk very easy. What brand of brake pads did you get? Quote
robert0762 Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 The plate that bolts to the carrier can slide back and forth on the caliper. It is called a floating caliper Quote
