my compression was at 105 psi. Somebody said that i would need a new top end soon. Does anybody know at what psi i would need a new top end?

that may be. ideally, you want 120-130 at sea level, but the readings can be off due to elevation, method, and the tester that you're using. 5 psi or more difference, on the other hand; it's time for some work

umm your good id rebuild at 90 or like a 7psi or so diffrence

but ak is right it depends on how you did the test and with what tester

well at the moment there is a 5 psi difference its at 105 on the right and 100 on the left

just curious are you holding the throtle wide open while you are kicking it over??

no i start off with no gas, then if it doesn't turn on i open it some, then i give it all if it doesn't turn on

when you are doing a compression test you are suppose to hold the throtle wide open while you are kicking it over till the needle stops moving..thats what i was asking..just curious

yes, when doing a compression check you need to hold the throttle wide open.

also, what type of set up are you running?

if you have a stone stock engine then 105 isn't too bad, if your running a cool head with 17cc domes then 105 sucks and it's time for a rebuild.....

mods dont matter. hold it WOT and kicked the hell out of it till it dont go no more. Unscrew it and do it again to insure it had a good seal.
