2004LEBanshee Posted April 10, 2009 Report Posted April 10, 2009 I noticed the other day I have a hair line crack on a weld on my frame I have a buddy whose dad is a great welder. Im going to have him repair it but I want to know what or if I should do any thing about my electrical system. What should I disconnect or take of before we do it. Quote
banshee_terror_ Posted April 10, 2009 Report Posted April 10, 2009 take the plastics of it makes it easier. and if there is wires in the way unplug them if u can or pull them put of the way when you weld the frame but make sure nothing is tucking the pipe your welding because it will get hot and melt Quote

AKheathen Posted April 11, 2009 Report Posted April 11, 2009 the cdi can handle the spikes just fine Quote
Darthwall Posted April 11, 2009 Report Posted April 11, 2009 ive done it before and havent had any problems with electrical issues Quote
rubberneck Posted April 11, 2009 Report Posted April 11, 2009 Personally i would unplug the CDI, it takes all of a few seconds. May not be necessary, but what if you cook it, you would not be a happy camper Quote
locogato11283 Posted April 11, 2009 Report Posted April 11, 2009 ive welded on frames before with electrical hooked up and no issues. if it makes you feel better though, just unplug the stuff. Quote
