engine noise

Ok my friends bike has a noise that kinda sounds like a collapsed lifter in a car, it has tapped for a while but not real noticable, till he had a head gasket blow out this winter, he had it replaced and now its loud. Any Idea bout what it might be? The bike still has alot of power just sounds bad.

I would check the water pump, Just had on go out on a friends bike and it sounded like that and it blew a head gasket.

Never thought bout that, prolly wouldn't hurt to check its an 02 and its never been checked.

it depends on the bike. both of mine on fresh rebuilds sound like a a knock and they sounded louder when the were wore out. some bikes are louder some arent. its one of the mysteries of the twin two 2 stroke. could be piston slap from wear.
