i have an 01 yz 125, i dont know anything special to know, its a really simple machine. its not very fast, i mainly got it for my gf. been on it like 4 times. are they liquid cooled on the 95? i know they look different but the motor is prob the same. mine looks like it has a pv cylinder too.

what do you need to know? midwestactioncycle.com has good deals on top ends if they sell for those. it is powervalved, liquid cooled, all of the fancies. powerwise it is much different from the modern ones, but its a good bike.

Yep this one is liquid cooled, has the 2 mini radiators. I stripped it down to paint it, not a fan of the blurple frame lol. What's a good forum for these things, to find out what jets it needs? I'm not keeping it, I'm going to basically re build the whole thing, and my boy is vegas wants it, so ill bring it with me when I drive out this summer

Pretty much just the normal 2-stroke stuff... take it to a shop and get it honed and make sure you dont need a light bore then order your pistons, drop it in and ride... make sure you replace all the gaskets and seals and what not that you've taken off with new one's lol. IDK what fastrthnu is talking about, everyone is diff. so Im not going to say he's lying or anything cuz that's how he feels but everyone I know around here that races or has ridden a YZ125 would take that over any 250 4-stroke because when you set them up they are one bad ass bike, and usually will pull any 250F... but that's just my experience so Idk, maybe it's just the set up?!

Yeah just the basic 2stroke things when rebuilding. One thing though, make sure the PV and linkage are real nice and clean. They have a tendency to gunk up and stick. Also if you have to bore it make sure that they cut the PV also. If you dont it might catch the piston and/or ring. I have owned two YZ125's, a 96' and a 07'. I loved both of them. The YZ's have a much broader powerband then the other 125's.
