225GUY Posted March 30, 2009 Report Posted March 30, 2009 I have my mods listed. 280 mains, stock pilots...needle in the center... I have adjusted the air screws and idle screws to idle nice. When i am sitting at idle and crack the throttle to half, it stutters and blubbers until rpms hit high and then it takes off.... what could help this? Quote

225GUY Posted March 30, 2009 Author Report Posted March 30, 2009 The needle is for midrange right? It is set pretty good.... it is bottom end that blubbers and boggs.. carbs are synced and i tried messing with air screws and idle screws... Quote
MILO Posted March 30, 2009 Report Posted March 30, 2009 (edited) assuming that your filter is clean, slides are in properly and sync'd, and the carbs are clean, and your plugs are good - it sounds like it's your pilot. Edited March 30, 2009 by MILO Quote
225GUY Posted March 30, 2009 Author Report Posted March 30, 2009 New air filter, new plugs, freshly cleaned bowls, synced carbs both with new 280 mains. so i should change the pilot? Quote
MILO Posted March 30, 2009 Report Posted March 30, 2009 i'm no jetting expert, but to me it sounds like the pilot needs changed. post about it in the jetting and exhaust forum and i'm sure you'll get more feedback. Quote
F.T.W. Banshee Posted March 30, 2009 Report Posted March 30, 2009 Change your piliots to 27.5s that should clear it up. Quote
AKheathen Posted March 30, 2009 Report Posted March 30, 2009 the needle setting is for the middle 75% of the throttle range, which includes over 1/8 throttle Quote
Ieat4strokes Posted March 30, 2009 Report Posted March 30, 2009 is in your pilots assuming carbs are clean and synced, new plugs, etc etc...... start at 2 turns out from seated on the air screws.... if going IN makes it better but it dont TOTALLY clear out by a 1/2 turn IN from fully seated u need the NEXT BIGGER size.... which is 27.5 on stock carbs.....if it gets better by turning them OUT, but doesnt clear up by 3 turns out.... go smaller....
