CadillacBanshee Posted March 28, 2009 Report Posted March 28, 2009 i ordered new stator and i got the one with the wrong plug on it. All the wires match in color. Can i just splice the wires together? I searched and found post that old stators wont work with new cdi's and i read that all stators work with all cdi's. What do i do? My bike is an 00 and the stator has a round plug on it. Quote
dajogejr Posted March 28, 2009 Report Posted March 28, 2009 Round plug is the 87 to 94 style. If you just ordered it....I would send it back and get the right one instead of splicing wires. Otherwise, cut the plug off your old one and solder then heat shrink wrap them to seal. Quote
CadillacBanshee Posted March 28, 2009 Author Report Posted March 28, 2009 i know i could cut and splice, but the question was.....will it work??? no problems with the cdi? Quote

AKheathen Posted April 5, 2009 Report Posted April 5, 2009 oh chit, didn't realize no one answered. only difference is the plug  Quote
RIPPEN Posted April 5, 2009 Report Posted April 5, 2009 Yes it will work... My bike is a 94 and I ended up using a stator off like a 01 in idaho a few years back. Spliced the plugs and it worked fine.. RIPPEN Quote
CadillacBanshee Posted April 7, 2009 Author Report Posted April 7, 2009 Looks like it was so easy, no one wanted to answer it. Quote
