Emmerrrrr Posted March 9, 2009 Report Posted March 9, 2009 I just got my cylinders back from the machine shop I got them bored .020 over and honed..I ordered a wiseco top end kit and brought him the pistons so he could match the clearance up.. I Think the clearance was .0003..Now I was thinking of going with a 4mm Stroker.. To do this I would have to sell these pistons and order the 795 series.. Now if I Do this will my clearance on my cylinders be messed up or will i be alright to just bolt in and go Quote
bbcmudtruck Posted March 9, 2009 Report Posted March 9, 2009 One of two things need to happen to run a +4mil crank. You either need to have the jugs ported for the 4mil and the domes cut (preferred method by many), or run a space plate. Well, I guess what I'm sayin is yes, you should take it back to the builder and have him port it for the stroker crank, and have your domes or head cut to match. Quote
Emmerrrrr Posted March 9, 2009 Author Report Posted March 9, 2009 I will have them ported and run the stroker domes... what I was asking if the clearance for the pistons be alright since Im switching pistons from the regular pistons to the 795 series to make up the long rod Quote
bansheefreak Posted March 9, 2009 Report Posted March 9, 2009 your biulder will have to check that when you get the new pistons Quote
Screaming Yellow Zonker Posted March 9, 2009 Report Posted March 9, 2009 Each manufacture has their tolerances. you never know until you get them. Wisco is pretty good when it comes to tolerances. Quote
