MILO Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 i'm working on a 4 mil build and i need to know if i should use the stock cylinder base gaskets or something else. i've seen gasket kits supposedly for strokers but i figured the stock gaskets would keep the cylinder height where it should be. let me know if i'm wrong. I just run what ever in mine. Those stroker gasket kits you have seen generally come with the 2mm base plate. That is usually what they are talking about with the 4 mill gasket kit. just check the squish before you fire it up. josh Quote
MILO Posted March 4, 2009 Author Report Posted March 4, 2009 well, i forgot to mention it but i'm having the cylinders ported and getting the stroker domes and will be installing it all together. so i was concerned about everything lining up like it's supposed to. i'm assuming that HJR is assuming that a stock base gasket will be used since i ordered the stroker domes rather than a spacer plate. or is the stroker gasket actually the spacer plate that i've been reading about? Yea you should just run the standard base gasket with cut domes. I was just saying that most of the time when you see a stroker gasket set on ebay it includes 2 or 4 base gaskets, and the spacer plate. josh Quote
dajogejr Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 Milo... These are questions you should be asking HJR...take nothing for granted. Too many times people just slap something on and go.... Ask him what gasket to use on your setup. Quote
MILO Posted March 7, 2009 Author Report Posted March 7, 2009 i haven't heard anything about the cylinder work yet, but i'm sure i'll be talking to him soon. i'll make sure to ask him about it. Quote
MILO Posted March 8, 2009 Author Report Posted March 8, 2009 I spoke with Kevin at HJR today and my cylinders are shipping out tomorrow morning :woot: I can't wait to get this all back together. Anyway, he said the stock gaskets should be used. I guess that it can vary depending on your set up so for anybody else, check with your builder just to be sure. Otherwise the results could be disasterous. Quote
