The Faster Cracker Posted February 21, 2009 Report Posted February 21, 2009 Ok so i just put on my adjustable timing plate on and have it set at plus 5. I also put on some 18inch tall tires which i think was a mistake but to make up for it i changed the gearing. I went to a 17t front and a 40t rear. The weather here has been shitty and im still putting of the diffrent dome for the cool head for the 4mil stroker. I havent been able to run it yet to find out what it is going to be like. Does this gearing sound ok to yall? I should have enough engine to turn it i think. I just want top end speed is all. Any ideas? comments? Quote
The Faster Cracker Posted February 24, 2009 Author Report Posted February 24, 2009 Ok so i have encountered a new problem. I have the 17t front and 40t rear on there and now I can not get a chain to fit. Stick length is 104 for the chain but it is to short. I tried a 106 cut i dont have enough adjsutment to get enough slack out of the chain! any ideas?! Quote

For one a 17 front is huge, but if you insist use two master links and add a length between the two. I run a 16-45 on a +12 arm so i have to run a 120 plus an extra 6 links with two master links. KlotzBanshee Posted February 24, 2009 Report Posted February 24, 2009 If all you want is top end, then the 18" tires need to go. :ermm: Quote
