blue-banshee Posted February 15, 2009 Report Posted February 15, 2009 (edited) i was trying to figure out what type of oil to use in below 0 temp's i heard that you can hurt your top end from oil starvation in the winter time i was thinking maybe switching to a snowmobile oil that resist that sort of thing, i know you need to jet up in the cold, but i was wondering does it really matter because its a pre-mix ? anyhelp would be apprecated Edited February 15, 2009 by blue-banshee Quote
jbooker82 Posted February 15, 2009 Report Posted February 15, 2009 The only 2 oils you really need to stay a way from for cold weather riding is Klotz Benol and Maxima Caster 927. On both mfg's web page the warn about the oil seperating out at temeratures around 30-35 deg f. Other than that you really dont have to worry about running an oil for cold weather since you premix. Where you run oils for cold weather is when you have an oil injector and you need an oil that will flow at cold temps. Since the oil is in the fuel there is nothing to worry about. josh Quote
