ok i got a coolant leak in my motor but not sure if its bad o rings for my coolhead or if its a bad base gasket. im getting a lil antifreeze out the exhaust and bubbles in the overflow jug and i can hear it gurgling after i turn it off. and there is no antifreeze in the tranny. i think its the orings b/c the compression is leaking out of the cylinder after i turn it off. is there any sure fire way i can tell where its coming from b4 i tear it apart so i kno how far to tear it down? and so i kno what to buy

there is nothing leading from the cylinder to the cases so its in the head if its leaking.

the coolant only circulates through the jugs and not any further into the motor ? the base gasket only seals the the bottom end from air leaks not coolant from the cylinders. thanks for the input

the coolant circulates from the port on the front of your clutch cover into the head/through the cylinders/ back out of the head/into the tube that goes through the case into the clutch cover and back into the water pump.

the base gasket normaly just seals the bottom end from air leaks but it is possible that one of the rubber plugs on the bottom of your cylinders could be leaking as well as the base gasket causing coolant to be leaking into the crank case. it's possible but most likley it's your o-rings in the cool head.
