Maier parts mixed with stock stuff?

I was thinking about the Maier fake carbon fiber tank & rad. cover on stock front fenders. Has any tried mixing these parts? I did a similar deal on my sister in laws 400ex & had trouble with the aftermarket parts holes not being in the right place. So I wanted to ask before I buy this junk & have zip ties holding it together & getting pissed off. Thanks in advance !!!

i have the maier fake cf radiator cover and gas tank cover but the rest of the plastic is maier also. i dont see any reason why you cant put them on stock fenders tho.

 

 

one word of advise tho. the grill mounts differently on the maier rad cover. it will be kinda hard to put an aftermarket grill in it.

 

 

there arent too many choices of grills for maier covers. jd (87sheerips on the hq) can make you a custom grill to fit. im thinking of going this route or trying to mod one from ebay.
