yamaha_rider619 Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 I do love the shee engine, but i was possibly thinking about putting a motorcycle engine in. Does anyone know what type of sportbike engine (like a r1, cbr, anything like that) would fit the engine mounts on the shee frame with little to no modification? Quote

yamaha_rider619 Posted February 5, 2009 Author Report Posted February 5, 2009 just the ypvs350 with power valve will with little to no fab. seriously though, stop and think of what your asking.... well i was only wondering because new motorcycle engines are inexpensive and all banshee parts are expensive. I need a new top end, and i dont want to spend really over a $1000 but i want new jugs, pistons, and a cool head but i really do not want to buy a new crank. Any ideas? Quote
Fireroad Express Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 you'll probably find that you're going to spend more trying to shoehorn in a bike engine than you would fixing up the banshee engine. Quote
twizted269 Posted February 6, 2009 Report Posted February 6, 2009 if you spend some time looking online youll find everything you need to put it back together. parts are cheap when you look for the deals. when talking about a bike engine you have to factor in all the electronics, mounts, lining it all up, and how in the hell are you going to pipe it right. your safer fixing what you have. good luck if you go the other route. Sell the shee and get a bike. I'm sure someone on here will want it..lol! If you want to put a bike motor in a quad it really should be a 450 4 stroke (or something 4 stroke) instead of a banshee frame. Banshees aren't set up to run a battery, not to mention the fact that you'll be ruining one of the best quads every made. One of the newer 4poke bikes will have most of the electronics and switches you will need to run a bike motor. Quote
