bansheecowboy Posted February 4, 2009 Report Posted February 4, 2009 Well i am going to try some flat tracking and knew that a lower bike would help, so i got a r-6 rear shock. man it looks great, bolted up easy the only bad thing is for some reason i need a knew chain. now i am just waiting for the two for the front. if any on would want some shocks i have my rear and two fronts for sale, i dont know for sure what the rear one is but the front are vortex with remote rezzies. i have pics but cant get them to upload. wacko2000 Posted February 4, 2009 Report Posted February 4, 2009 what are the pros and cons with running a R6 shock? Quote
bansheecowboy Posted February 4, 2009 Author Report Posted February 4, 2009 You know i dont know i just hear some of the guys on here say they have them in the rear. it does make it sit about 3 inchs. lower. and it is a bit stiffer.. i havent rode it yet still waiting on some warmer temps here in south dakota( it was -5 today) and some more parts. but i will let you know what i think, also if anyone could post the pics i would email them to you. Canadarider Posted February 4, 2009 Report Posted February 4, 2009 ur going to love the r-6 shock for fting man best move on my part . I went from a elka rear with a lowering kit to a r-6 way better for the tracks i race on Quote
#1banshee Posted February 4, 2009 Report Posted February 4, 2009 As for the shock i love my rear shock.. It makes my rear sit so much lower and the rebound etc etc is sick.. I'll let you know how it rides and who ever wants to ride it @ glamis this weekend or next week is more then welcome. Quote

sheefreak Posted February 4, 2009 Report Posted February 4, 2009 Got one for sale already drilled and fitted to stock polished linkage. $80 shipped, or will repolish linkage before sending for an extra $20... Shock is in like new condition. Quote
bbcmudtruck Posted February 4, 2009 Report Posted February 4, 2009 I run the R6 for horseshoe racing in the summer. I tried to do a tt style race and it was brutal. The R6 is very stiff and obviously doesn't have much travel. It is ideal for smooth terrain though. Quote
Canadarider Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 ya not a good shock for jumping but for drags and flattrack its great Quote
hellride96 Posted February 9, 2009 Report Posted February 9, 2009 does it matter what year the bike is that the shock came off of??? or do they all fit Quote

If you are needing some awesome flat track front shocks, I have a pair of AFCOs here. They need rebuilt, but I think AFCO does it very reasonably. I ran AFCOs when I was TT racing. Quote
bbcmudtruck Posted February 9, 2009 Report Posted February 9, 2009 I run an 06 R6 on the rear. I think that they will all fit, as long as they have the vertical resivoir. However, you will need to make any of them fit with some bushings. The eyes on the R6 are smaller than the banshee. You will have to use smaller bolts. Quote
hellride96 Posted February 9, 2009 Report Posted February 9, 2009 what kind of bushings are needed? Quote
bbcmudtruck Posted February 9, 2009 Report Posted February 9, 2009 I had my buddy make mine. I will post some pics, it would be easier than trying to explain, maybe. Quote
