swhitey917 Posted January 31, 2009 Report Posted January 31, 2009 Hey everyone. I just got a skin industries seat cover for the shee. what is the best way you guys know of of how to get them on and look good. Quote
vulvafan537240 Posted January 31, 2009 Report Posted January 31, 2009 start in the middle and staple one side. then the other working from the middle out. pull it real tight. i had to pull staples out and pull tighter a few times with mine. cutting a plastic bag in half and putting it between the cover and foam helps it slide easier. Can you put it over the existing seat cover or is it manditory to remove the previous one, Quote
vulvafan537240 Posted January 31, 2009 Report Posted January 31, 2009 i removed mine. i guess you could put one over another one. its not too hard to remove the old one tho. i used a flat head screwdriver to pry the old staples out. Quote

I am just worried that my foam underneath is jacked up. My seat dosent seem as thick as the one on my brothers banshee. i dont know if its because my current seatcover has got the foam smashed down or the foam is just wore out. Quote

regalrocket Posted February 1, 2009 Report Posted February 1, 2009 The hard part is getting the staples in correctly. You have to push real hard on the gun, otherwise the staple kicks sideways and won't go into the plastic, I would think that with the close tolerances (you have to heat and streach most seat covers) that it won't go over the stock cover in the front area where it peaks next to the tank, and if it did, you would have a hard time going threw both layers of seat covering and still keeping the staples going in straight. I have done them on sleds and quads. My last one was part of the decal kit I got off of ebay, and it came out very nice. Just take your time. I personally start in the hard parts and work my way to the easy stuff. Which for me means working the front and front sides, then the back area, and lastly the sides. Quote

Your seat is probably lower than your brothers, becuase you have a 89 shee. The 87-90 shee had 1 and 1/2 inch lower foam than the later year banshee's. The seat cover you bought was probaly fitted to the newer taller foam. Here is a link on how to recover a seat properly. http://www.3wheelerworldforums.com/showthread.php?t=90587 Quote

2twin350s Posted February 1, 2009 Report Posted February 1, 2009 anybody know where i can pick up a new seat foam and pan at? Stock complete banshee seats with good foam and covers and pans, go for about 35 bucks on ebay. New foam alone costs 70 bucks. Many drag racers like the lower foams you have. You could probably resell it if it is in good shape. Quote
