gregrob Posted January 22, 2009 Report Posted January 22, 2009 stock stroke? 4mil? Ported? trail, dune, drag? What fuel do you run? What elevation? How much compression do you want? Need more info. Quote

gregrob Posted January 23, 2009 Report Posted January 23, 2009 You didn't answer the part about the fuel you're running and it does kinda matter. I can imagine your running pump gas at the moment. If you want to stick with pump has, leave your domes where they are. If you want to step up to race has or methanol you could go with 18s or 19s depending on the desired end static compression. I prefer to keep compression around 145psi for pump gas. 160ish for race gas, and 185 max for methanol. You hit a point of diminishing returns where too much compression can actually make it harder for the engine to rev out and hurt your performance. Kinda depends on what you're using the bike for too. Every builder may have a different opinion on that but these are just my thoughts. Kevin and I talked a little about it on the phone today and he seems to agree, on the compression part. Greg Quote
