BlasterKX Posted January 19, 2009 Report Posted January 19, 2009 will this effect how it runs at all? i had the airbox off so i can easily dial in the syncing after getting my idle good. but i ran out of gas and the place i get my oil from is closed. so im screwed til tom.which il have to work.lol Quote
05.Banshee.SE Posted January 19, 2009 Report Posted January 19, 2009 You had the lid off of the airbox, or the entire airbox and filter off the bike? If it's just the carbs, then I'd say yes. It's flowing alot more air than it normally would. Running no airbox with "open carbs" would be similar to running pods. But even just the K&N pods choke the bike up compared to running no filters, just carbs. Quote
BlasterKX Posted January 19, 2009 Author Report Posted January 19, 2009 ya i had the hole air box off. i wasnt riding it this way just trying to get the idle right so i can sync em. but i dont think i can do it this way Quote
05.Banshee.SE Posted January 19, 2009 Report Posted January 19, 2009 Yeah, I'd imagine it's going to choke the bike up a lot when you do put the air filter and box back on. Might as well just wait I guess. Quote
BlasterKX Posted January 19, 2009 Author Report Posted January 19, 2009 ya i think i got it and was going to test ride it but i ran outa gas lol Quote
AKheathen Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 ya i think i got it and was going to test ride it but i ran outa gas lol i just use a long screwdriver to reach the right carb Quote
BlasterKX Posted January 21, 2009 Author Report Posted January 21, 2009 the right carb? what you need a long screw driver for? Quote
05.Banshee.SE Posted January 21, 2009 Report Posted January 21, 2009 the right carb? what you need a long screw driver for? Who knows...maybe his carbs on backwards...LOL Quote
BlasterKX Posted January 21, 2009 Author Report Posted January 21, 2009 lmao you never you know Quote
Rodneya Posted January 22, 2009 Report Posted January 22, 2009 lmao you never you know WTF. We need spell check, or grammar check or something here. Maybe if I was rat ass drunk I could understand. Quote
05.Banshee.SE Posted January 23, 2009 Report Posted January 23, 2009 WTF. We need spell check, or grammar check or something here. Maybe if I was rat ass drunk I could understand. Ok. But there is no intelligence checker...that's what we need. And there is a spell check, but you actually have to click it to use it. And it wouldn't help this topic out any. Quote
AKheathen Posted January 23, 2009 Report Posted January 23, 2009 Who knows...maybe his carbs on backwards...LOL yah they run f'n awesome backwards. flipped the reeds so the vibration atomizes the fuel coming from the boost bottle...........now if i could only get it to fire without sprayin the pipes coulda swore the airscrews were on the left side of the carbs, but maybey i'm riddin backwards. how do you reach them strait? Quote
05.Banshee.SE Posted January 23, 2009 Report Posted January 23, 2009 The right carb has the air screws on the right side, and the left side carb has 'em on the left hand side... Putting one carb on backwards wouldn't work though...you wouldn't be able to put on the tube between them, and the inlet and outlets are different sizes (assuming yours are stock.) Quote

Putting one carb on backwards wouldn't work though...you wouldn't be able to put on the tube between them, and the inlet and outlets are different sizes (assuming yours are stock.) i was joking, but both the airscrews are on the left of each carb, and, no i don't have 2 left carbs, and neither is backwards. if you have the tors eliminated, the idle screws are as described. (right side- right carb; left side- lefrt carb) Quote

(right side- right carb; left side- lefrt carb) Oh, I know what you're saying now. I was picturing you sticking a screw driver through the left hand side of the bike, from the outside, trying use a long ass screw driver to reach in there. I was like what the hell, just pop the seat off lol. It's easier just to use a short screw driver, but hey, whatever works man. Quote
