JasonsBanshee Posted January 18, 2009 Report Posted January 18, 2009 I've been wanting to go to Badlands for a while now and it's simply been too cold! So I want to plan a trip to Badlands. I've set the date to go on Saturday, March 7th. If we can get a big enough turnout, I'm going to see about having this be an annual event. I'm also going to advertise it on my site to help for a good turnout of riders. So who all is down? Quote

I want to take my bike down and explore it before I have a lot of people out there. I'm going to go there as soon as the weather breaks and we get some warmer temps. I like it alot...the whole center area is made up of a real fine pea-gravely 'sand', kinda like the dunes (with cliffs, also). It's surrounded by woods/forest with lots of hillclimbs and mud and trails. 3 tracks, i think,..... camping/food stand, and they allow ALL kinds of vehicles. Quote

I was wondering the same thing. Everyone I see in the pictures are on dirt tires. Since they have trails too I'm going on my dirt tires. I may bring paddles just incase. I dont have paddles, never have...never had a problem!! Wouldn't hurt to bring 'em, but then you'd have to change them to go in the woods. dave5.0 Posted January 18, 2009 Report Posted January 18, 2009 There's some pretty decent riding over there. I've ran paddles over there but I wouldn't recommend running an expensive set. I've been running 4snows and had good luck. they don't beat you to death on the hard pack but still hook up good in the loose stuff. Some of the peagravel/sand is real thick and heavy. It's an interesting ride if you haven't done it before. There are a lot of rocks but they are all like river rock. Round and smooth. You'll wanna watch the roost it's pretty painful. The trails are pretty decent too. It's a little pricy but not too bad. Quote
