BellicoseBanshee Posted January 17, 2009 Report Posted January 17, 2009 I have a billet clutch housing and streight cut gears I just put on..... I put the springs on and noticed that the billet housing seems to slide in and out a bit (.03"). Is this movment normal?? Thanks! What brand is the basket? I installed a Hinson spring tension basket recently and had the same issue. I spoke with one of the Hinson representatives about that issue, and he told me it is normal. The gap is intended to allow the basket to expand as it reaches operating temperature. My friend has the same basket, same gap, and his is just fine. Now a wobble is a different story... :ermm: EDIT: I would speculate that the stock helical gears prevent the movement or make it less noticeable... Quote
lt1bird Posted January 17, 2009 Author Report Posted January 17, 2009 I think were on the same page After I took it back a part, it looks like thats exactly what it does....Since it spins on the spacer it would need a little space to dis enguage......There is no wobble...... I think its a magunm housing....Very nice quality.... I figure with the helicoil gears it would suck the housing all the way to one side......I bet that why the streight cut gears make more noise,......since the housing seems to float a bit more..... Thanks! Quote
