I'm close to your weight and motor combo and on gas you lose a little torque and I can understand the 2nd gear not pulling out of the hole. I dont think Jim's gonna get tons out of it. If it were me i'd run 15/ 42 and start in first. With the cheetah having P/V's maybe he can get you a little more tq and you can pull 2nd with like a 13/44. I'd stick with the tires you have still.
